Why Buy Heritage Breeds?
Aside from getting a more interesting looking bird, you are also helping to preserve traditional poultry breeds known for their unique attributes and adaptability. Although hybrid layers produce a lot of eggs over a short time it does not come without a cost. Heritage or old fashioned birds are better foragers and have more barnyard smarts than their often skittish hybrid cousins, they are often not as easy to work with and tend to experience greater stress which often shortens their life-span. Because heritage breeds often live longer they can produce just as many if not more eggs than the hybrid crosses.
Ordering Chicks
Circle Pond Farm is now accepting pre-orders for the 2026 hatching season. Until we get our new website fully operational with an online order form, orders can be placed below by simply entering your name with contact information: email and phone in the message section Orders of over 10 chicks will require a 10% deposit.
We will usually contact you within a day or two of your hatch coming out and we will require pickup soon after they hatch. Sometimes we may be able to deliver for a fee if we have a couple of orders in a similar direction. Otherwise pickup will be at the farm.
All chicks are sold "straight run" (unsexed) we do not sex the birds.

Day old Khaki Campbell ducklings: $12 each

Day old poults (young Bourbon Red, Eastern Wild and Royal Palm turkeys): $12 each
Day old Embden goslings: $15 each

Hatching Eggs
Yes we sell hatching eggs as well. Fertile hatching eggs for the chickens are $2 per egg or $25 per dozen. Fertile turkey eggs are $5 each or $60 per dozen. Khaki Campbell duck eggs are $3 each or $35 a dozen. Emden Goose, Mandarin Duck, Wood Duck and Canada Goose Eggs are $5.00 each. (Important: You have to have a valid Canadian Avicultural permit to purchase Canada Goose or Wood duck eggs or chicks)
* We only sell them after all our existing chick orders for those breeds have been met or before the hens are divided into their breeding pens for the season.
